Serving: East Jerusalem (Beit Hanina), Israel

Vision: To see children and families with multiple ethnicities and beliefs living peacefully together without fear of each other.

Profession: K-9 Teacher BS & ME, Curriculum Developer, Educational Trainer, Strategic Planning, Facilitation, Leadership Development

Favorite Quotes:
“Language is very powerful. It does not just describe reality, it creates the reality it describes.” -- Desmond Tutu

“Only a refusal to hate or kill can put an end to the chain of violence in the world and lead us to a community where men can live together without fear. Our goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.” -- Martin Luther King, Jr 1966

Bio: Raised and educated in the US, traveled to over 32 countries sometimes teaching, sometimes serving, sometimes backpacking. Taught for 22 years in Public Education including Higher Ed, Children’s Ministry - 17 years Curriculum & Training and Spiritual Mentoring at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL.

Presently, applying my life experiences and focus on developing 3rd Grade-High School Peace Making Curriculum at the Jerusalem School. This includes peace theory and application, learning about leaders of peace from around the world and while helping students make connections between the lives of these peacemakers and themselves. Training and supporting teachers to teach this curriculum and do what they do best - build relationships and teach! My increased interest in working in the Middle East came after spending time with both Jews and Palestinians in their homes and offices in 2012 in Israel and Palestine and learning both narratives. A place where we need more Peace, Salam and Shalom.
